Melanotan I is afamelanotide, a linear analogue of alpha-MSH, and the difference from Melanotan II is the point of stocking both: Melanotan I is selective for MC1R, the receptor associated with pigmentation, while Melanotan II binds across the melanocortin family and therefore brings appetite and sexual-function pathways into the picture. Supplied as a 10 mg lyophilised vial.

If a study needs pigmentation signalling isolated from the rest, the linear form is the tool for it. Supplied lyophilised per vial.
